The arctic winter temperatures traveled south earlier and colder than usual this year. While many of us were scrambling to keep safe, warm and dry, our miniature rose breathed a sigh of relief and blossomed nicely.
I came across this “rock” flower while walking on a trail in Chalk Ridge Falls Park, Texas. A couple of the petal stones had been dislodged, so I put them back and left the flower for other hikers to enjoy.
