I popped on down to San Antonio for a stroll along the beautiful riverwalk. There were some birds there, of course.

You looking at me? (How do birds turn their heads like that?)
I came home with a lot of blurred duck photos. I just can’t seem to figure out the manual settings for my camera for moving objects. However, this last photo is a happy accident. I really like it. I couldn’t have gotten this blurred result if I tried.

I drew a rabbit a few days ago (based on Mark Crilley’s YouTube video How To Draw A Rabbit) and then I “painted” it in thread (on my sewing machine). This is my first effort at thread painting without having a photograph on the base fabric; this is all free-hand. I think the whiskers are too dark, but it is not like using graphite pencils where I can erase!

When I drew the rabbit, I used two pencils: Raffiné 3B and Prismacolor Black. When I stitched the rabbit, I used seven threads: Gütermann 30-weight 4335, 8, 9333, 40, 3454, 93, 000 (black). I used the black for the whiskers; too dark.

I came home one day to find this outside my front door. Just feathers. No blood, no body parts, just feathers. I jumped to the conclusion that a hawk cornered a pigeon or dove on our front doorstep.

Hubby put up a game camera, you know, just to see what was out there.
Surprise, surprise, something was out there. We had no idea that deer came onto our property as it’s all pasture and ponds. Maybe the deer was lost?
