Shading a Tulip

I took off a long time from art due to some arm pain issues. I’ve recently started sketching again, this time with graphite pencils instead of charcoal. In my drawing lessons, under the watchful eye of my drawing instructor, I’ve shaded a cone, a sphere, and a cylinder. This is my first attempt at shading by myself. I’ll take this to my next lesson for a critique.

Some of Patty’s Thread

“Thread” was one item on the supply list for my art quilt class. Patty brought some of hers. Yes, only some. I brought one of those thread containers to class. Yes, I have more thread than what fits in one container. But I’m not saying how much. No, can’t make me.

The painter’s tape is to secure the boxes for the trip home. We were packing up when I photographed these boxes.
