Baby Bird Watch, Day 5
A storm came through last night; it rained all night long, stopping just before dawn. We measured 2.18 inches of rain in that time. Yesterday there were four little yellow beaks in the nest; today I could see only three. The little feathers look as if they might be Mockingbird feathers.

Nest is getting crowded

A couple of days ago I found two bird nests: one in an Italian Stone Pine tree near the driveway, the other in a honeysuckle vine on our fence. Today I decided I will photograph the nests every day and post the photos.
The nest in the Italian Stone Pine tree has four baby birds in it. I’m not sure what kind of birds, as I haven’t been around to see a parent fly in or out.

The nest in the honeysuckle vine belongs to a Mockingbird; it had three eggs in it. Unfortunately, today it was empty.
