Do Overs

Even with my camera that is a lot smarter than I am, I sometimes often take bad, fuzzy photos. Many situations are not repeatable (I was out of town, for example) and the chance for a good photograph is lost forever. Every once in a while, however, I have the opportunity to return to a site to retake a photograph. Here are two that came out blurry the first time; I’m much happier with my second effort.

Acorns

Our poor, little trees. We’ve been in a drought for many years and their growth has been sporadic at best. We did have a wet spring and that was a good start to the year. Our Pin Oak tree in the back managed to keep a few acorns through the dry, hot summer. The break in the heat should come soon. We hope. (Don’t know about the break in the drought.) In the meantime, here is an acorn that made it through. You can see the leaves starting to turn way before autumn has arrived.
