The earth cracks
As temperatures rise
The heat tugs on the moon
Low on the horizon
Silhouette
When the mountains are blue
Ravens fly with the dawn’s chill
Blurred to the river below
Raven in northern New Mexico
Even the Ghosts
Spring breezes, autumn leaves
A child’s laughter, a puppy’s bark
Holding hands on the porch
Abandoned, forgotten
Even the ghosts have fled
Rain Falls
Rain falls as a cloud’s
Only possible action
Not for the tree’s need
