It's a long story ... 
We checked out the San Antonio River Walk last Saturday. Beautiful! I don’t remember ever being so impressed by a city’s solution to something necessary but ugly (drainage canal). Anyway, we took the boat tour and the best part was watching the ducks time their crossings perfectly. We kept saying “Oh, look out for the duck!” but the driver never bothered and they just slipped around us like Queen Victoria not deigning to notice the hansom cab bearing down on her. My friend wanted to see a duck get sucked under us and then pop back up behind and give us “the bird”. Didn’t happen.
The San Antonio Riverwalk is beautiful all year round, but especially so with the Christmas lights.
