I actually like this tree better in winter than in summer. Without its leaves, I see the natural uniformity of its shape and I get to see all the bird nests.

Central Texas is not one of the hot spots for color change in autumn, or any other season. But it does happen and we can find some wonderful examples, if we just know where to look. One such place is the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.
