A female Northern Cardinal who was nice enough to sit still just long enough for me to photograph her.
While at Pedernales Falls State Park, I checked out the bird blinds. I’d never seen one before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. What fun! There were two blinds in that one spot, each overlooking a bird feeding area. It was my first sighting of a Scrub Jay and a Spotted Towhee. I also saw a Cedar Wax Wing for the first time but didn’t get a photo.
At McKinney Falls State Park.
I chanced upon this Northern Cardinal singing yesterday morning. The rain had just stopped, the clouds turned white and the sky showed a little blue. Due to the sun’s position, the tree’s position and the bird’s position, I ended up at an odd angle to photograph him. I was just glad he didn’t fly away.
