The late winter weather here has been mild (into the 70s for highs) and we are enjoying this hiking advantage while we can.

The North San Gabriel River. It flows into Lake Georgetown.
I hear the trail around Lake Georgetown is about 24 miles. I’ve hiked only a few miles of it.


Does moss really grow on the north side of trees?

The drought is killing too many trees.

We found this Common Snapping Turtle while hiking along Canyon Creek. It tolerated us fussing over it for a few minutes, then slipped back into the creek.

Not my pets, but other people’s happy dogs I’ve met on hiking trails.
