This year’s crop of Devil’s Claws from the garden (a volunteer plant). I waited too late in the season to get a photo of the flower. Maybe next year, as they say.

In wandering around the web, I recently came across the weekly blogging theme “Macro Monday.” It gives me an excuse to take even more photos, so here is my first Macro Monday post.

I took the wasp nest photo with my telephoto lens, as I didn’t want to get close enough for the wasps to notice me. Wasps are beneficial creatures and I’m hoping this nest doesn’t grow too big that our environments clash.
Art In The Park
The last time I visited the Mayfield Nature Preserve, there were four artists painting the pond area. One artist graciously allowed me to take a photo of her in-progress painting.
I realize now I should have taken a photo of the view she was painting, but here is part of the pond she was painting. (Missed opportunity!)
