These are Yellow-headed Blackbirds (most of them). It took me forever to find that out, and actually I didn’t, hubby did. I spent hours and hours on the Internet, looking up “orange and black” birds. Finally, I decided they were Orioles, but I couldn’t find a photo of one with coloring just like the birds in our front yard. Hubby — somehow — discovered they were YELLOW-headed blackbirds. Well, they look orange to me.

Great Egret in Flight
I saw this great egret sitting on the top branch of a dead tree in our pasture. I had my camera with me, but by the time I turned it on and focused, the bird had taken flight. I took a couple of photos anyway, just to see what sort of photo I could get. You just never know.
