Here’s the red-tailed hawk perching on a dead tree in our pasture. It was too far away for a sharp photograph and not facing the right direction for good light. Better luck next time.

After a six-month hiatus due to arm pain issues, I started sketching again. I sketched a snail and then decided it would make a good subject for me to teach myself how to paint with watercolors.
Purple snails actually exist: Janthina janthina. Mine don’t look anything like any real snail, but that’s okay with me.
This goose could go to a yoga class.

At Mueller Lake Park
There’s probably a whole family of spiders living in that rose. They can’t hardly weigh anything or take up much room.

The grackles took advantage of the shopping cart overturned in the pond in back of the shopping center.
