I traveled to Columbus, Texas, and took the time to walk around downtown a bit. I was fortunate in that when I went to the Santa Claus Museum, it was open. Libby, the docent, was waiting for a busload of visitors from Houston and I got there just before they arrived. Not only did I get to see the Santa Claus collection of Mary Elizabeth Hopkins (more than 2,000 Santa Clauses!), I tagged along with the Houston group next door to the Dilue Rose Harris House (who wrote about the runaway scrape), as well as the Abram Alley Log Cabin (built in 1836).
Cool water tower.
