I spent a whole lot of time on the face. At times, it looked like Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, a sea lion, and a hog.
This was the Artwork of the Day for today at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Sketch 029: Polar Bear, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Purchase, Edward C. Moore Jr. Gift, 1930

Very nice. No Rudolph at all. I have a snapshot of my husband standing beside the original at the Musee d’Orsay.
What a great experience to see this sculpture in person! Good for you and your husband.
We had so little time in Paris. I want to go back and stay for weeks in the Louvre. When I write the Great American Bestseller, perhaps.
I thought it was a good sketch of the subject. 🙂
