I decorated a small Pecan tree out front. I first had these decorations on the Burr Oak tree, but I could only reach the three lower branches. I decided to move the decorations to this Pecan tree, where I could reach all the branches.

I chose the blue fabric as a background to set off the color of the leaf.
Monday Up Close
I drove into Austin for an early-morning photo session at Mueller Lake Park. Here are some of the birds hanging around.
The lighting wasn’t the best, as it was totally overcast by gray clouds. I look forward to returning on a day with blue skies for more photos.

Stolen by the Storm
Lindy knew what the creek bed would look like, under the bridge: rocks, branches, trash. She filled several bags with plastic bottles, broken toys, torn clothing, and any metal objects she could find.
In her shop, she built the trash into treasure, naming each piece “Stolen by the Storm” with the storm’s date. Lindy sold every piece she ever made, wondering if any buyers recognized some of the scrap components as their own. Did they purchase the artwork out of guilt, then, or were they happy to find a piece of their life that the storm had taken from them?
