The cold weather is late in arriving to central Texas but it finally made it. Our Bradford Pear had been blooming, taking advantage of the rains we had, followed by warm weather (still in November).
Blooming in mid-November
Burr Oak leaf
Clover
You can see the seasons change here in central Texas, if you keep your eyes open. I found this outside of BookPeople.
It’s too soon, I said
Looking up to the clear, dry sky
The rain will come, eventually
It won’t be enough, you said
Dark brown edging ever inward
It’s too late
The only flowers able to beat the heat are the small ones. (The high temperatures are still in the 90s.)
I don’t know the name of this flower.
The earth cracks
As temperatures rise
The heat tugs on the moon
Low on the horizon
