I signed up for a free, online course through edX: Natural History Illustration. I must have thought I had some free time. I don’t, but I signed up anyway. Here is my object drawing for the first assignment: cattail, gourd, petrified wood (just in case you can’t tell). I’m not sure what the reference notes are supposed to include for a natural history illustration. Thank goodness for Wikipedia, is all I can say.
It may take a while, but Mother Nature will reclaim her territory.

I was wandering around The Triangle complex just before meeting a friend for lunch when I came around a corner and saw a lot of white stuff on the ground. From a distance, it looked like snow.
It wasn’t snow, but protective covering for the plants as we’ve had a couple of nights with the temperatures in the teens. All I can say is that is a lot of protective covering. I wonder where they buy it and where they store it.
