Too Soon
It’s too soon, I said
Looking up to the clear, dry sky
The rain will come, eventually
It won’t be enough, you said
Dark brown edging ever inward
It’s too late
Red and a Little White
The only flowers able to beat the heat are the small ones. (The high temperatures are still in the 90s.)
I don’t know the name of this flower.
The Earth Cracks
The earth cracks
As temperatures rise
The heat tugs on the moon
Low on the horizon
Rain on the Mountains
That is Taos, New Mexico at the base of the mountains.
That is snow (in July) on those peaks
