Ave B Grocery: Older than 50 Years
The Ave B Grocery was built in 1909. I found it sometime around 1980. I like to eat lunch there and sit outside on the picnic tables.
The “Older Than 50 Years” Black & White Challenge spans multiple weeks, so here is my second entry.
What’s Next?
Lunch in Seguin
Pat and I drove down to Seguin and Geronimo to check out some of the antique shops. We had lunch at the Court Street Coffee shop. It was our first time there, so we got some good advice from a group of nice women who eat there regularly. And it turns out I wasn’t the only vegetarian in the place: two of the women were vegetarian! I’m definitely going back. Good company and good food; it just doesn’t get any better.
Luling Watermelon Water Tower, Sketch 126
As you might guess, watermelons are a big thing in Luling, Texas. Each June they host a Watermelon Thump festival. Judges choose the Grand Champion watermelon (which is then auctioned off), and you can catch the seed-spitting and watermelon-eating contests.
