I arrived home one day to find this waiting for me. A group of vultures in flight is called a “kettle.” When they are feeding, a group of vultures is called a “wake.” When they are resting on the ground or in trees (or on my roof?), they are called a “committee.”

I saw chickens in my friend’s yard. When did he get chickens? He didn’t, he said. The chickens run all over the neighborhood and belong to no one. They roost wherever they please. This nest is on his front porch. These are true free range chicken eggs.
