Sally The Kitten, Sketch 102
I do not know how long it will take me to learn to draw the eyes. And by that I mean, how long it will take me to learn to see the eyes as they are so I can draw them. The hard part for me is to see things as they are, not as the generic representation in my mind.

Donald The Cat, Sketch 101
One hundred sketches done, just like that. Not really “just like that,” but one after the other, keeping at it. In honor of that milestone, I decided to take on more difficult subjects, knowing that I’ll struggle with them. That’s okay. I’m teaching myself and I’m learning. And it’s only a sketch!
I like this photo of Donald The Cat. I sketched the eyes so many times I couldn’t erase the pencil marks totally from one effort to the next.

Stone Lamp, Sketch 100
Angle’s not quite the same. Maybe I hold my sketchbook titled while working.

Oil Lamp, Sketch 099
The top is not wide enough. (Somehow I cannot see these things until I upload the photographs for the blog.)
