Some years back, hubby hung up some gourds under the carport as potential nesting places. Usually only sparrows took us up on the offer. This year, however, we have a new resident: a Bewick’s Wren.

So sweet! I am addicted to birdwatching now that I’ve had a feeder out for a year. We just had a male and female cowbird show up at our feeder. I know people think of them as parasites, but I just can’t put that negative connotation to them.
We also have cowbirds here. I put seed out at the feeders and they get their share.
