Leap of Faith

The old man called her Faith (not her real name but she didn’t worry about it). She feigned indifference anytime he looked her way (as cats are wont to do), ate the food he left for her.

The yellow bird just showed up one day. She watched him plug in the cord attached to it. It came alive! The wings moved; its head turned back and forth. It was going to attack!

Instinctively, she launched herself from her hiding place in the tree, claws fully extended, aiming for the big yellow head. She had only one thought in mind: Protect!

Goodie Bags

Thanksgiving was good: an extended family gathering at a nephew’s. He and his wife did all the heavy cooking (and cleaning), while the rest of us brought side dishes, salads, desserts, and drinks.

Goodie Bags from Bella s
The best part was the Goodie Bags that our great-niece Bella gave us. She had a sign-in sheet for everyone to be sure we got our specific bag. Each one was uniquely decorated and had our names on them. We sent her a hand-written thank you card.

That’s us: Ant Tchrisha and Uncel Brucel. I’m keeping these; they are priceless. (The candy inside was pretty good, too.)
