“But it snows there!” “Usually people move away from a cold climate when they retire.” Sandra understood their confusion. She couldn’t explain the feeling of belonging when she had visited Taos and experienced the welcoming art community there.
The plane wasn’t even out of sight and she knew her family and friends were adjusting to her absence; life goes on. Looking out the window, Sandra saw the Florida landscape for the last time.
In the New Mexico mountains, temperatures were starting to drop at night. Closing her eyes, she dreamed of the first snowfall and knew she was going home.

i will so love to see snow falling some day.
I get it. I’m a four seasons gal kinda girl, and escaping snow for a week or two is nice, but home always has a couple months of cold cold weather.
Dear Tresha,
This was a peaceful interlude, a quiet flight of the imagination and a wonderful read. Thank you.
Aloha,
Doug
Dear Tresha,
A lovely story. Sandra is a woman who knows what she wants. Kudos to her.

I felt the same way when I moved from Colorado to the coast of Washington State. LOVE the rain… As Doug said, this is very peaceful.
Surprising to find home in a brand new place. A good surprise, though.
Lovely read. Nothing like the feeling of home.
Tresha, Florida has more sunny weather, but also more hurricanes. Our daughter loves Chicago even though the weather is colder. She was raised in NC where we lived for years. We now live in India and I miss the changing seasons. Good story and well written. 🙂 —Susan
