“What a dump! I hate you!” Robin ran back to their car, sobbing.
‘A new house,’ her parents said. But Robin saw the reality: rotting porch, doors askew, leak-stained ceilings. “It just needs some patience and love,” her dad said.
Robin cried herself to sleep while her parents unloaded the trailer. Her dad woke her, saying, “There’s something I want to show you.”
Reluctantly, Robin followed him into the back yard. They climbed up the ladder and looked around in the abandoned tree house. Smiling, she reached for his hand, “It just needs a little patience and love, right, Dad?”

What a heartwarming story.
Thank you! I wanted to try my hand at writing a (mostly) happy ending.
What an endearing moment and a good relationship between father and daughter! Great story! Nan 🙂
little patience and love, right, Dad? Evidently he has a lot of patience and love. Well done.
Such a lovely story, I enjoyed reading. It gave me an inner glow!
Tresha, Just about everything’s been said. I thought it was a lovely story of family love with a happy ending. Dad could see it finished in his mind. Robin finally saw it that way also. Well written. 🙂 —Susan
Thank you. Houses and tree houses may need patience and love, but so do daughters (in this case, Robin).
