Contrast
Dark and light direct
One’s attention to contrast
Unique, not alone

Ticka’s garden gate
The Other Side of the Gate
Inside looking out
Noise and traffic
Concrete and heat
Hurries, worries, and frowns
On the other side of the gate
Outside looking in
Shade and shadow
Flowers and faeries
Benches, butterflies, and stars
On the other side of the gate

Reflections
Reflections are inherently biased
Inexorably inseparable from their point of origin
Reaction is distinct from intent, much to our surprise
Surely there aren’t two of me?

Harbinger of Hope
The rose draws within for winter
Creating its own shelter
Returning from the frost is an uncertainty
We are always the last to know its fate
A leaf dares to steal a look at spring
A rosebud follows, shows us how to survive
Extending its petals, in time
A sigh of relief escapes through the open window
With the sunrise we discover another chance
To cherish the rose
A harbinger of hope for the future

At the H-12 Outdoor Cafe near the intersection of Hamilton Pool Road and Ranch Road 12.
An Unspoken Invitation
Open seating, easy to view
Nature’s gallery of artwork
Flowers on the table
Sharing nature’s smile
An unspoken invitation
Shall we accept?
