My first ever portrait sketch! I decided to be brave and try it. Even so, I don’t think it’s close enough that she would recognize herself.

I did not get a good photo of the woman for comparison, as I was trying not to be noticed.

Another attempt of mine to find an object defined mostly by lines and not shading. This was a better choice than the ribbed bowl.

Sketch 037: Cracked Gravy Boat
I chose this bowl to sketch because I was looking for an object that had mostly lines in (on) it, as opposed to areas that were defined by shading. What did I discover? The rim and the ribs are defined by shading, not lines. And proportions? What proportions?
