Dinner for Two
When Mark suggested eating in, Beverly looked forward to some time together. Turns out he had invited some friends over. They watched the baseball game on TV, crowding her off the couch. While they dissected each call, she sat apart sipping the wine she brought along for their dinner date and ate some pizza.
After his friends left, Mark asked her to stay over. The snoring from the living room informed her he fell asleep on the couch while she undressed.
Getting ready to leave (and not return), Beverly put her watch back on, wondering where the time had gone.

Sometimes when I write a story, I start at the end. When I looked at this photo, the line “she put her watch back on” came to me and that’s where I started for this week’s story.

you have to kiss a lot of frogs …..
Yep, I’d lose that one!
Sad, but at least she got out on time! Great story in such few words π
Interesting that you start with the last line. It works, I enjoyed this story. I always start writing and never know where it is going to go.
I don’t always start with the last line, but it’s not uncommon.
Looks like she’s dodged a bullet there, time to go and never return
Oh “Time to Go” would have been a great title for this!
Three strikes and he’s out. His loss.
You ca’t say she didn’t try.
Love that last play on words!
I can feel the burn! Well done. I got mad (for her) just reading this!!!!
Some people, right?!
Great ending!!
Good for her… ‘Nuff time wasted!
Finally, she left. Good for her. Nice story.
