This is the back porch of President Lyndon B Johnson’s childhood home in Johnson City, Texas. The bathroom was not part of the original house. The outhouse is still in the back yard.

Thursday is for doors over at Norm 2.0.

Cool – pretty humble looking beginnings for an eventual President. Thanks for sharing this 🙂
Such simple beauty.

I remember my grandmother’s porch had that sky blue paint. Makes it feel cooler?? Kind of need that in theTexas heat. Nice post!
In theory, the blue porch ceiling is supposed to mimic the sky and deter wasps from making nests there. Our wasps have not been deceived, not at all.
I’m surprised I didn’t know that. My dad was a painter by trade. He should’ve let me in on that info lol
Nice! The outhouse, although not pictured reminds us that he answers the call of nature like the rest of us regardless of your status in life.
Nicely preserved, but humble – I like that!
