Some Explaining To Do
Meg wondered what surprise Eric left for her this time; he constantly played tricks on her, trying to get her fired. She climbed the ladder to clean the uppermost shelves. Her shoe stuck to the step a bit. In trying to get it loose, she lost her balance, falling. Broken glass and a dead body waited for the first shift.
The police sergeant noticed the gum on her shoe and its counterpart on the ladder step, wondering what it had to do with Meg falling.
DNA testing would pinpoint the gum’s owner. Soon, Eric would have some explaining to do.

Ingenious
Wow, this guy really has a lot of criminal energy. Great take.
Seems like there’s gum and there’s gum. 🙂
Lock him up!
Great story. Come see mine here.
The gum did the trick alright. Filthy habit, though. Clever idea. Good story.
That’s a big step from trying to get her fired to murder.
Unintended consequences. He just meant to get her in trouble for causing the bottles on the top shelves to fall off and crash. Involuntary manslaughter, probably.
Oh, yeah, definitely some explainin’ ta’ do. 🙂 love it!
Oo, Eric definitely crossed a line here! Bet he’ll never do anything like that again, once he gets out of prison, assuming he’s probably going to spend some time behind bars for this one. A lesson to people who try to mess with other people’s jobs.
