Up the Down Staircase
“They’re really gone.” Nichelle looked up at her twin brother leaning against the railing. “They were different, but in a good way.”
“Different in the all best ways,” Nicolas kicked a stone; it tumbled down the cracked stairs. “We can do it, too, Nichelle, like they did. We can figure it out. They showed us how.”
“I think stars don’t always fall downward.” Nichelle picked up the stone and tossed it back up to the top. “I think they just went up the down staircase. We’ll wait here until dark. Tonight we will see two new stars in the sky.”

Nice tribute! 😀
For a minute I thought they might have been pushed.
Great story. Come see mine here.
That is a beautiful, beautiful tribute. They were both exceptional people.
Lovely tribute to David and Alan, Tresha. Both were extremely talented entertainers. Well done. 🙂 — Suzanne
