Victor discovered that the downtown shop was always busy. By the time he finished his shift each day, he was frazzled.
A college buddy, Woody, came to town on a business trip, staying at the Marriott across the street. While Woody changed for dinner, Victor looked out the hotel window, down onto the shop.
It dawned on him that the shop’s rooftop was accessible yet isolated. Like a blank canvas, he thought, deciding a folding chair and table would be just the thing for that empty space. He knew where he would disappear to at break time from now on.
