An Unexpected Journey
Anne descended the stairs and stopped, as every inch of the lobby was occupied. A senior hiking club checking in, someone explained without her asking. A silver-haired woman approached her. “We want to be at the top before sundown. You’re welcome to come along.”
She murmured some excuse, returned to her room. Don’t these old people have anything better to do than to climb up the side of a cliff to see a sunset?
Laughter drifted up to her window. She looked out, saw them gathering for their sunset-seeking trek.
Grabbing her jacket, Anne ran after them. “Wait for me!”

Good for her. They seem to have fun, and so will she.
She just needed a little help to look at things differently.
Ah, she heard the laughter and didn’t want to miss the fun. Good for her.
Better not to miss the fun…
